Is The Rapture Biblical?

Welcome to The Rapture Rebuttal. On our site you will find several studies devoted to the rapture doctrine. The purpose of these studies is to find the answer to one question. Is the Rapture Biblical? For those of you who don't know, the word rapture is often used to describe our gathering back to Jesus upon His return. Those who teach the pre-tribulation doctrine, which is the one we will concern ourselves with, contend that Jesus will return two times, the first time to gather His saints from the earth and take them to heaven. According to them, believers will simply disappear from where they stand, leaving little more than a pile of clothes and some very confused bystanders behind. After seven years of great tribulation, Christ will then return again to reign upon the earth for a one-thousand year period, also known as the millennium. While portions of these beliefs are Biblically based, much of the rapture theory is at odds with the Holy Scriptures.

Anytime we begin to test a doctrine, we must let the Bible be our authority. In doing so, we must view scripture in context and in relationship to other scriptures that deal with the same subject. Most often when the rapture is taught, you will receive two or three verses, taken completely out of context and you will be told what you should believe about them. Our studies will show you these same verses in context and in comparison to similar verses. We contend if you view the scriptures in this manner, you can only come to one conclusion. The Rapture is not Biblical! We know how popular the rapture is and it is difficult to comprehend how a fable has come to dominate prophetic teachings. We shouldn't be too surprised though, we were told the day would come when sound doctrine would be rejected in favor of false teachings. We hope you will view our studies and earnestly consider the conflict between this doctrine and the Bible.
